All About Auditory Processing Disorder in Children

APD – auditory processing disorder in children is also known as Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD.  This is definitely an issue which has engulfed number of kids as per the world statistics. This is a neurological disorder which hinders the ability to process and comprehend the sounds. This disorder definitely hinders the academic performance of the child, as he faces difficulty in reading, listening, comprehending, which further leads to improper behavior also. 
  • ADP child might be interpreted through following symptoms.
  • They are unable to concentrate on one thing, or subject, and moreover their attention span is too lest. Just few minutes talking to you, and you can find them distracted.
  • Of course, if the attention is less, and so is the listening, speaking and comprehending the academic performance will suffer.
  • They also have difficulty in following directions
  • Low memory and grasping power which leads to low retaining of information
  • The child suffering from Auditory Processing Disorder is unable to express himself properly. He/she is unable to express, which leads to further complications
